YABATECH Ranked Best Polytechnic In Nigeria 2022
The Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has emerged as the top best polytechnic in Nigeria in 2022 for the third time, Making it three consecutive times in a row clinching the very first position, according to rankings by Webometric 2022.
According to the ranking result recently released by the body, the best polytechnic in Nigeria is Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) followed by the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, rated 2nd best among the 50 ranked Institutions in the country.
While shedding light on the ranking criteria, the Management of Webometric, a leading Spain based Institutions ranking organisation stated that four (4) ranking factors were used which include; openness rank, impact rank, presence rank, and excellence rank, noting that, those four factors were the criteria used to determine which Polytechnic tops the table out of all Polytechnic Institutions in Nigeria.
Webometric ranking of the World Universities/ Institutions is the initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC), the largest Public Research body in Spain.
Yaba College of Technology was established in 1947 as a successor of Yaba Higher College.
It attained autonomous status in 1969 by virtue of Decree 23 which granted it the mandate to provide full-time and part-time courses of instruction and training in technology, applied science, commerce and management, agricultural production and distribution; and for research.
