FG Orders Immediate Reopening of Universities. Details are as follows:
The Federal Government through the National Universities Commission has ordered vice-chancellors to re-open schools and allow students resume lectures.
This was made known in a letter signed by the Director, Finance and Accounts of the NUC, Sam Onazi, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the commission, Professor Abubakar Rasheed.

The letter which was made exclusively available to Nigeria News Agency on Monday was addressed to all vice-chancellors; Pro-Chancellors and chairmen of governing councils of federal universities.
“Ensure that ASUU members immediately resume/commence lectures; Restore the daily activities and routines of the various University campuses”, the letter partly reads.
They should know that u can force a horse to the river but u can never force him to drink water..It is the students that would suffer for this as they would be made to pay through their nose to get education v.and how many parents would afford it .let the Govt have a rethink about all this .
Hahahah…in as much as the order is line, the govt should also be mindful that, they are dealing with Nigerians who are acknowledged to be extremely stubborn & recalcitrance in nature. So, it would be of national appreciation if the govt can come with palliative to cushion the hardship these stubborn Nigerians would had suffered, not minding the pains students had undergo for the past 7 months, simple!
It would better for govt to pay these sets of people on compassionate grounds & good gestures, at least 3 or 4 months salaries so as to enable them fuel their cars & eat food to regain energy for the going back to classroom, simple!
Just ordering them to go back to classroom like that is somehow callous & inhuman of to govt. Yes, let them understand that, the 3or 4 months salaries would be a good & compassionate gestures & that next time it would be strict adherence to the “no work no pay” law, simple! NA so i see ham ooo! If not, students will suffer ooo! Saying these set of people are heartless would be understatement ooo! Hahahah
It is not just about ordering the head of vasities to reopen schools, the question is; have the FG and ASUU negotiated and come to a win-wine situation?
