Our approach to athletics is to give our students as much challenge as they want, taking into account their individual interests and skill levels. Seventh graders begin with Physical Education, which introduces them to a wide variety of sports, ranging from water polo to strength and conditioning, and may also choose to participate in after school sports. Eighth graders must choose two trimesters of afternoon program (sports or arts), and all Middle Schoolers have the option of trying out for Upper School teams.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″]\n

Team Spirit<\/h2>\n

Being part of a larger Upper School means that Middle Schoolers have unique opportunities to play many different sports at all levels. Whether students want to play on our varsity and junior varsity teams\u2014competing against squads from around New England\u2014or learn a sport for the first time, there is a spot for them here. Williston’s athletic program emphasizes teamwork and sportsmanship. Former Middle Schoolers often cite how welcoming upperclassmen were to them on athletic teams.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner]

        Our Sports Facilities<\/h1>

        As part of our Physical Education and Afternoon Programs, Middle Schoolers have access to big-league athletic facilities, including our Athletic Center, turf fields, track, rink, and pool.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div>

        Babcock Pool<\/h2>\n

        Middle Schoolers have the opportunity to get into Williston’s six-lane pool as part of the afternoon program, where they can try out for the boys and girls swimming and diving and water polo teams.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”1356″ img_size=”medium”]\n

        Sabina Cain Family Athletic Center<\/h2>\n

        Our Athletic Center houses two basketball courts, four squash courts, a wrestling room, a fitness center, and a six-lane pool. In addition to using the gym as part of our PE and sports programs, the Middle School hosts a number of our socials in the gym.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”2675″ img_size=”medium”]\n

        Lossone Rink<\/h2>\n

        The school’s fully-enclosed ice hockey rink is home to the boys and girls hockey teams, and also offers recreational skating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”1358″ img_size=”medium”]\n

        Galbraith Field<\/h2>\n

        Just down Park Street, Galbraith Field is home to grass and turf fields, an 8-lane track, 12 tennis courts, two regulation baseball diamonds, a softball diamond, and a 5K cross-country course. Students who participate in afternoon sports often practice and play games on these picturesque fields, with Mt.
