Girls water polo has been a part of Williston’s athletic program since 1994, and is one of only ten programs currently running in the New England Prep League. The regular season blends single games with a mix of tri and quad matches. Most players arrive at Williston with no previous background in water polo but then quickly fall in love with the sport. Swimmers do make up the core of the team but this is not a sport only for swimmers! New players contribute the skills they have learned from other sports such as basketball and lacrosse, like cutting to the goal, how to read an offense, etc. Returning players play a key role in helping develop new player’s skills quickly in the pool. The values of teamwork and sportsmanship are tantamount to the success of each season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″]\n
